First Church, Charlestown, MA
Mission Statement: Build bridges to the outside community to better serve its members, and work to build a beloved community.
Volunteers and I slept in the First Church in Charlestown as we traveled throughout Boston to work with at-risk groups. Interfaith Voices sponsored the trip along with support from the United Campus Ministry to Keene State College (a non-profit, ecumenical Protestant Christian ministry to the KSC). Special financial support was given by many local churches specifically for the trip as well.

Pilgrim Trinitarian Congregational Church, Dorchester, MA
Many members of the homeless community unfortunately become dehumanized by society in their situation.
The Monday lunch program allowed volunteers to not only cook for guest, but also serve and sit with the homeless. We were given a chance to engage and learn the many stories of the people we encountered.
This was a chance to make someone in need feel human again, even if for one meal.
This meal was a Thanksgiving themed dinner that fed a full house!

The Cathedral Church of St. Paul, Boston, MA
We were given the opportunity to serve dinner at a larger church in the heart of the city. The kitchen got together a hearty dinner and dessert to serve as many people as they could.
Through the Public Voice Project, we were able to sit and talk with people who have transitioned out of homelessness.
Another project consisted of making sandwiches for the "City Reach" program of Ecclesia Ministries, which does outdoor church. During their service, we gathered and mourned for the death of a member of their homeless community.
